I do not believe in hand-held games or video games for children. My mother is the one who went against my wishes and bought this for my daughter for Christmas 2008, it is just 2008. Knowing my feelings on this subject my mother came armed with newspaper articles, letters, newspaper articles and education. Due to my stubbornness was a full year pre-loaded software on my computer. With that being said I am glad my mother bought this for my daughter (age 8) as I never would. Didjnot a hand held game or video game, is a wonderful educational tool. I love it! The Didj is with his feature "leapfrog Connect" which I can upload it and choose spelling words and math facts skills and language arts class and then again with a special skill. To proceed to the next level he must answer a series of questions of education, this motivated her because she earned micromods. Micromods is similar to the cash / signal that he downloads "Extras" for eachgame. For example, Sonic has downloaded and pet for a new computer for the Nancy Drew and step by Spongebob Karate. I have bought six other educational tools, Nancy Drew, Nicktoons, Neopets, tinkerbell, Super Chicks, High School Musical and download free from leapfrog Jet Pack Heroes. I can not say enough about this important educational tool. My daughter is studying math facts and spelling words without me telling her "It's time for studies."

This is surprisingly light, which is great for small children. It is also shorter than the Home Depot hardware technician and yard toys. I love to start smoking because it offers something to do instead of pushing buttons, and makes it really is because the batteries are not needed. One thing that I did not realize is that you have to pull the pull start a few times to wind it up and then push the button to make it go. My son is obsessed with yard work equipment soloves it.

I got this one for my daughter and 7yr old Christmas, and he likes very much. The vocabularies are very challenging for her to me and very desolate. Vocabularies I think it is very difficult for the child and 7yrs old, but when she repeatedly that he is able to do more to itself. About Math, my daughter knows all the time table and a small department, so this game makes it exercises its Multiplication and Division of the vote. Every time he starts, he wants to continue.

We got this as the first game for Leapster my daughter six years old the new two. He wanted a DS, like his brothers, but I think he was too young for it. He likes the game, and I saw that he played a lot during the month, but I saw her play is not that often lately. He prefers the game to come and paint the Leapster on this game. However, my three year old could play for hours, even on his level of understanding. From what I saw, youWe have given a picture, and you are about to get some things in the picture. You can use the pen to pan around and select items. There is also a game where things match the rhyme or match objects to their original letter. Good learning activities, but there does not seem a whole lot different, though, and maybe it is because my children play with the same level over and over. There are three levels to choose from. I got this product for a very good price, so it was worth it to me. I amtried any games, though, so I can not compare to the assessment.

This bridge is worth every penny. I bought this bridge online (not from amazon.com) and the description said that it didn't come with ascending tracks, so I bought ascending tracks separately. Well, it turns out that the bridge actually *did* come with a pair of ascending tracks! Also, I bought a male-to-male connector separately because I thought that the 2 bridge pieces could not connect directly to one another, to form one long bridge - once I got the bridge, though, I found that you *can* actually connect the 2 bridge pieces together without using a separate connector..all you have to do is remove one of the supporting blocks (underneath the track) from one of the bridge ends. Each bridge has removable supporting blocks on both ends, so there's a ton of configurations you can come up with. If you have ascending track risers (which do *not* come with the bridge), you can connect the bridges with regular straight track

If you have the Thomas series wooden railway series, then by all means, be sure you get Duck. He's just one of the older trains, and is almost in each and every video. He doesn't usually have a large role, but he's a kind and good friend to all the engines. This guy gets taken to bed in our house and also, everywhere we go. It's pretty funny listening to all the role playing going on in the carseat with this guy and hey, he can even dance to the Wiggles! These trains definitely develop imagination and fine motor skills, but they also become friends. These wooden guys are VERY durable too. They don't chip like you'd think they would when dropped onto the floor. We plan on keeping our wooden train series and interconnecting them with a "real" train set when our little one gets older. Also, don't forget to check out the HO series of Thomas here on amazon. I didn't know they existed and what a neat way to introduce your little one to the fascinating world of trains. Something they can definitely grow up with and use for quite some time. Highly recommend Duck!

I got mine for .00 and its a great buy, I wanted to get my kids one but they are 4 - 5 yrs old and I didn't know if they would like it. Man was I wrong. They love it. They even share with it and spend time playing with it and being quite. (this is a rare thing in our house) I got them some games for xmas but they love the free ones on it. Great buy and now I see why all my friends kid's love it. I may be buying another one after the holidays on amazon for one of their birthdays as they do love it. I also got my games one at target for 15.99 (on a reg non special sale day) and another online from the leapfrog site for 10.00. I might be getting one on amazon too later today. The cases how ever don't fit the item as I tried one in target but I have another one for their vtech vsmile hand held which amazing can hold both. Were going to be taking these on our 9 hr flight to NY this xmas. Great buy! I think its durable personally as its held up to my brute child quite well. FYI don't use rechargeable battery's or the pack you can buy as that is only for leapster2 but get the power cord which we got at target for 9.99. We also have one for our vsmile hand held and vsmile system.

We got this game for my 6 year old daughter. It is now the favorite game for all of us, my 6 year old, 5 year old, and 2.5 year old included. There is a fun cooking game where you chop and add ingredients into the gumbo soup. It is fun to use the pen, and the girls have such a great time with it. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

My 6 y.o. daughter and I played this game twice tonight...she received it as a Christmas gift. We both had a great time, and it was fun to watch her little mind work as she tried to figure out the different coin amounts. There are cool aspects to this game, with the money bag space, and the bank exchange. It really encourages little minds to figure out the amounts, and it's a GREAT way to learn about money (other than a workbook page). The money is even pretty realistic and detailed...and there is a nice amount of it included. She kept commenting on how much she loved this game, and I think it will really help her be more confident in counting money and remembering which coin is valued for how much etc. Two thumbs up!!!

My son wanted a "real" saxophone after one he got that didn't require you to blow in it and also had pre-programmed tunes in it. This toy is more educational becuase you do blow into it to make a sound and the keys work to play different notes. No batteries required - it's all up to him! At 3 and 4 he doesn't really play much of a tune, but he thinks he's doing a great job! Sure, the reviews are somewhat right that the sound quality isn't exactly like a real saxophone. But, it's still way better than the fake one with batteries. Don't be deterred by this concern and pass up a great toy!

I got this last Christmas when the grandparents were all out of gift ideas. I figured it would be another "educational" toy that didn't get much use. And in fact, if I let it sit on the shelf, it doesn't see the light of day much. However, when my kids (5 and 7) are "doing" school, this is a welcome alternative to other math facts practice. I do need to direct its use a little, otherwise my son (5) has a tendency to pick the "numbers and counting" game, which is too easy. Then he gets bored and walks away. But if I ask him to play a round of addition or subtraction (particularly if I tell him the alternative would be to work in his math workbook), he follows through and seems to enjoy it. I suspect the gross motor aspect of this toy helps the information get lodged in there in a different way than other practice, so that's nice. I particularly like that level 1 covers math facts through 10, and level 2 through 20. This allows me to pick the right leve for both kids, without it being too easy or too hard. I think it is at the right level for both kids now, and we will likely get reasonable occasional use out of it for a couple of years to come.
