This was a gift for our little granddaughter 4 years old. She loved it! Not only is he pretending to be putting out fires, but he put his mommy water the flowers out, washed part of his father's car, I washed off the sidewalk ~ fun never ends! I would recommend this to any child around the age of 4. The only thing we had to look that he wanted to bring into the water and everything. This toy is great, because you can remove the water tank so that toy can be brought in withoutto do any damage to things that are not waterproof! We purchased the Little Tykes push the gas to go with it, and she was very happy to pretend that he was filling his firetruck and gas every often.
She loved it and we loved watching her play with her pretend!
This was my 27-month-old grandson's favorite Christmas present! He sat on the top of it and watched an entire movie when he got home from Nana's house Christmas Eve and hasn't stopped playing on it since then. It's totally portable and seems to be indestructible, as CJ is pretty hard on his toys and it's still standing and being played on.
This does a great job of allowing young kids to blow bubbles without so much worry about spills etc. When used as intended... it's pretty good. However...
Since you can't spill it, my son decided to see what he could put in it... other determined kids might also feel the need to foil the bubble bucket by shoving dirt down inside the holes. I don't know why kids do what they do...
The wands are not great. They're thick and seem hit or miss but if you have a premium thicker bubble solution (can't remember this brand we are using now, maybe Amazing Bubbles?) they work decently. They are nice and chunky for little ones to grab.
There's no cover... so you can't keep things out. Like bees. I guess you could just keep it in the house to help with this, though.
It's REALLY hard to get the top off to clean it out. My husband can get it, as his hands are a bit bigger than mine, but I can't, and I don't have tiny hands by any means. It's really hard to get a good grip on it - so to clean it out I attempted to just sit it in the sink and let water pour into it... I counted 30 bees float out and countless portions of bees. Pretty gross. It had been outside all winter so I was giving it a spring cleaning. How hard it is to get the lid off is my number one complaint about this.
So it's good... could be better... but we like it. :-)
