I've bought a variety of these for my son, now seven years old, over the last few years. The appearance and durability of these makes the purchase price much more reasonable than it might otherwise appear and the "mix & match" benefit means that when he gets a new addition it's like getting a whole new set of toys. Lots of fun for both of us --- and yes, that means I sneak them and play with them when he's not looking!
This is the first thing my 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old granddaughters run for (and sometimes fight over!) when they arrive at my house. They both love the "fishing" part and the older will often help little sis put the pieces back. It was such a big hit I just ordered from Amazon 2 other magnetic puzzles. I love the fact, NO batteries, NO noisy songs and it keeps each of them occupied. They are learning to "share", although the older of course understands that much better.
Melissa and Doug products have continued to please this grandma, and I love that they are more like the toys from my childhood and my childrens childhood. Made of wood, this should last for many years.
My daughters original kite reel broke so I ordered this one. She could not wait for a windy day so she could try it. The wind finally blew and she tried it. It worked quite well. It actually seems to be better designed than the original. I think that it will last longer than the original.
This is a great pump and airs up pretty quickly. I bought it to use with a hopper ball and works great, but i see multiple other uses in the future on other such toys and things. This is not a toy and i don't let my kids use it, so i rated it poorly in the toy category, but it is overall very good and useful.
