"Seamore", as we refer to the glowing sea horse in my house, has been apart of my son's life from the time he got home from the hospital (10 months now). At first, we used Seamore in my son's co-sleeper. Both my husband and I like a dark room so no night-lights. So when my son would wake up, we would turn on Seamore to provide the perfect amount of light to safely pick up my son, change him, feed him... Fast forward 10 months later, and we turn Seamore on as we put our son in his crib and walk away. After a minute or two, our son is asleep, cuddled up with Seamore. Sometimes in the night, we will hear Seamore bubbling away still cuddled in our son's arms. In the morning, we find our son holding Seamore and standing up in his crib waiting impatiently for us. Unfortunately, this has led to Seamore's demise from falling on the floor so much (my son will accidentally drop him since he is kind of heavy). So we are buying Seamore II.
The only thing I would change is to increase (or have the option) the time of music. 5 minutes is a little short when we were sleep training and seemed to frustrate my son until he got the hang of turning him back on
